Basic Objective & Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for handling daily shop floor operations and personnel. Schedule manpower, order flow, quality, and order prioritization to ensure the completion of orders to be shipped. Motivate and develop shop floor personnel and sets the standard for a high level of productivity. Strong focus on efficiency, quality, training and cross training. Ensure all safety and environmental standards are being adhered to in the entire department.

Essential Job Functions or Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for a safe and organized shop floor. Assist all operators with tooling setups and c/o to assure consistent quality and high productivity. Provide troubleshooting support and training.
  2. Perform limited planning in WFS to maintain constant work flow.
  3. Personnel management for all direct reports such as: motivation, team building, time and attendance, disciplinary actions, assist in performance reviews, link between shop floor personnel and management
  4. Create, update, document and enforce work instructions and standard operating procedures for all assigned shop floor personnel
  5. Lead and coordinate the continuous improvement process in the department and on the shop floor

Secondary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and update job safety analyses for all areas in the department
  • Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible plant according to the applying regulations
  • Reduce scrap in all areas of the plant
  • Responsible for 5S and LPMS improvements
  • Cooperate with other departments to continuously improve quality, decrease machine downtime, efficiency and productivity
  • Leader in continuous improvement of quality of product, standard work and documentation
  • Responsible for production reporting and LPMS

Requirements/Education (including certifications and licenses):

High school diploma (required)

Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering (required)

Lean or 6-Sigma experience (strongly preferred)
