Primary Function:
The basic purpose for this position is to work as part of a production line team or independently having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Operate machinery and equipment, such as hydraulic and manual presses, electric/air tools, and various hand tools and equipment during the assembly process
· Must be able to read blueprints
· Perform quality checks on products and parts during the assembly process
· Package finished products and prepare them for shipment or stock room
· Review work orders and blueprints to ensure the assembly work are being performed according to specifications.
· Complete production reports/timecards to communicate details of work performed by shift or day.
· Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process.
· Perform various assembly tasks performing to expected quality and efficiency levels related to work assignments and procedures.
· Maintain the general cleanliness of assigned work space, work station and department.
Physical Requirements of the Job
· Position requires the ability to lift, bend and squat. Needs to bend/pivot to pick up and lift up a scanner from the rack and carry to the table where the testing is to be performed.
· Extended periods (hours) of standing to perform assigned job functions.
· Repetitive functions utilizing both hands - lifting, positioning/repositioning products and components of varying weights. Product weights varying from 15 to 40 pounds.
· Repetitive use of hand tools, keyboards and handheld scanners.
