- Work with complex blueprints, special instructions such as process sheets, supplier purchase
- Orders, customer purchase orders and flow down requirements, inspection plans, and instructions. Inspect component parts and overall product visually for specified surface quality characteristics and missing operations and with specified measuring instruments for various interrelated dimensions for conformance to engineering specifications and codes of customers as required.

- Prepare and maintain required department customer certification packages, paperwork, records and serial number log and other quality related files and records.

- Perform first piece inspection on the assembly floor when required as well as first article inspections.
- Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments such as various types of micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, plug gauges, optical compactor, computerized coordinate measuring equipment, gauge blocks, pin gages, height gauge, surface plate and any other measurement equipment as required.
- Ability to set up intricate gages and train others on appropriate methods. Assist Quality Engineer with managing the calibration schedule while minimizing the impact of absent gauges on inspection and production. Minimize the production schedule impact caused by removing gauges for calibration.
- Ability to conduct receiving inspection, perform final inspection of kits per the parts list and inspect internally fabricated components to supplement Quality Inspector resources as needed.
- Responsible for creation of non-conformance documentation when discrepancies are detected at this inspection stage. The ability to determine the appropriate dispositions for nonconforming product; function as quality representative at the Preliminary MRB Review when required.
