The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical/electrical components and systems, testing these designs and implementing them into production.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop new products that are innovative, reliable, and cost effective.
- Directly involved in all phases of assigned product development to assure all design objectives are met.
- Monitor progress of projects on a regular basis and communicate any variances in the established timetables.
- Review product designs and initiate proposals to improve function and reduce cost.
- Provide Engineering support to Technical Support and Customer Service teams.
- Communicate directly with Raynor sales representatives and the customer when necessary.
- Assure product compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Review and resolve quality issues with the product.
- Assure that engineering drawings and ECN’s are accurate, concise, and open to only one interpretation.
- At times troubleshooting product in the field.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Preferred: A Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering from a four-year college or university.
Alternate: Associates degree (AS) in engineering plus five years related product design experience in a manufacturing environment. Should be proficient in mechanical designs in sheet metal forming, plastics, and castings and have good understanding of basic electrical components and wiring diagrams.

Computer Skills:
- Proficient with 3D CAD modeling.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, as well as ERP system.
